THURSDAY TRACK: Eagles host home meet

Eagle Early Bird

The Windom girls and boys track teams each finished third in the team standings at the Eagle Early Bird Invitational, held Thursday in Windom.

The Eagle girls finished with 91 points. Redwood Valley won the team title with 168.

Windom’s boys scored 82 points. Worthington won the team title with 218.

The Eagle girls were led by double-event winner Elliot Espenson, who placed first in the shot put (36-2½) and discus (97-½).

Kaylee Walklin added a win in the 1,600 (5:39.68). The Eagle team of Walklin, Hannah Dauer, Haidyn Sammons and Victoria Robillard won the 4×400 relay (4:41.52) and took second in the 4×800 relay (11:00.36).

Sammons was second in the 800 (2:56.24). Robillard was second in the 400 (1:11.76) and Ava Van Norman was second in the 200 (30.33).

The Eagle boys were led by Jose Rodas, who took first in the shot put (41-2).

Charlie Smith was second in the pole vault (10-6). Bryan Macario Rios was second in the 400 (56.68). The 4×200 relay team of Job Ogeka, James Erickson, Macario Rios and Kevin Bleess took second (1:39.03) and the 4×800 relay team of Aaden Nauman, Smith, Thomas Green and Bryce Green was second (9:17.84).

Bulldog Invitational

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey’s boys were fifth and the girls were sixth at Thursday’s Bulldog Invitational, held in Janesville.

MLAC’s boys scored 71 points. Maple River won the meet with 178½.

The Wolverine girls scored 66 points. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton won the meet with 154.

The Wolverine girls were led by Kearney Wall, who was second in the discus (89-6) and Michala Morin, who took second in the high jump (4-8).

MLAC’s team of Zoe Evers, Khloe Saelee, Morin and Paige McMullen added a runner-up finish in the 4×100 relay (57.72).

The Wolverine boys were led by the 4×800 relay team of Luke Klassen, Zach Klassen, Ethan Schroeder and Kody Wassman, which took first (9:14.69). Zach Klassen added a win in the 1,600 (4:51.05), Wassman was second in the 3,200 (10:27.16) and Schroeder was second in the 800 (2:09.74).
