A Celebration of Life Gathering for the family and friends of Eric Grunst, age 58, of Windom, was held Saturday, April 15th at his home in Windom.

Eric Alan Grunst was born on March 9, 1965, to William and Karen (VonOhlen) Grunst, in Trimont, Minnesota. He was confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minnesota. Eric attended Riverside Elementary School and Jackson High School, graduating in the class of 1983. He continued his education at the Jackson Vo-Tech and studied mechanics, and Eric later attended South Central Technical College in Mankato, where he earned an associate degree in network administration.
Eric worked as a welder at Toro for ten years. He had two children, Kristine and Kurtis. He enjoyed computers and gaming, but most of all, he loved spending time with his two grandkids, Logan and Aria. Some say it was his second job being a fulltime grandfather.
Eric heroically passed away at his home in Windom, on April 12, 2023, at the age of 58 years.
Left to cherish Eric’s memory are his children, Kristine (Jake) Garber of Windom, and Kurtis (Belle) Grunst of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Logan and Aria; his dad, William Grunst of Windom; siblings, Ed (Gloria) Grunst of Windom, Ethan (Jennifer) Grunst of Windom, and Rachel Grunst of Windom; several nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Grunst; and sister Chistine Grunst.
