Employees at the HyLife pork processing plant learned Monday that the Windom plant is for sale.
When that sale will occur and how it will impact the employees and plant remain to be seen.
HyLife president and chief executive officer Grant Lazaruk said the intention is to continue operating the plant while the sale process is ongoing.
Lazaruk cited inflation, high grain costs and exchange rates that affect both industries and customers as primary reasons behind the decision to pursue a sale.
