If all goes as planned, deer hunters, armed with bows, will be patrolling a few spots in Windom sometime in September.
At last night’s Windom City Council meeting, the council voted unanimously to apply for a special deer hunt with the Minnesota DNR. The council is still exploring where the hunt would occur, should the city’s request be approved. However, it appears the council is seeking areas that provide large “buffer areas” and maximum safety.
Other cities that have held these types of hunts in the past are New Ulm, Mankato and Blue Earth. For much more on this story see future editions of the Cottonwood County Citizen.
