Two injured in three-vehicle accident Tuesday

A three-vehicle accident was reported shortly after noon on Tuesday afternoon at the north junction of Highways 60 and 71 in Windom.

According to the State Patrol, a 2022 Freightliner semi, driven by John Rohrscheib of Las Vegas, Nev., was westbound on Highway 60. A 2008 Toyota, driven by Betty Torkelson of Windom, was southbound on Highway 71 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The initial crash caused a light pole to fall onto a 2018 Volkswagen, driven by Arlis McFarland of Lakefield.

Torkelson and McFarland were each taken to Windom Area Health with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Rohrscheib was not injured in the crash.

Assisting the State Patrol at the scene were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Department, Windom Police Department, Windom Fire Department and Windom Ambulance.
