The Windom boys basketball team turned up the speed in the second half Saturday, pulling away for a 98-87 victory over St. Peter in the Big South Conference Showcase, held in Waseca.
The Eagles rallied from an early deficit and took the lead for good late in the first half. Windom hit 15 three-pointers in the game and went 19-of-26 from the free throw line to seal the victory.
Henry Erickson returned from injury to lead the Eagles with 28 points and 10 assists. Abe McKibbin finished with 25 points, Drew Rothenberger added 19 and Greyson Elder scored 15 in the win.
MLAC 25-51 = 76
AE 23-33 = 56
Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey erupted in the second half Friday night, surging to a 76-56 victory over Adrian-Ellsworth at Adrian.
The Wolverines held a slim two-point halftime lead, but put up 51 second-half points. MLAC outscored the Dragons 46-32 in the lane in the victory.
Carter Olson led the Wolverines with 21 points. Ashton Toll finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Alex Karschnik added 11 points. Grant Oakland finished with 10 points in the win.
Edgerton 19-14 = 33
RRC 15-37 = 52
Red Rock Central’s offense kicked into gear in the second half Friday night, as the Falcons pulled away for a 52-33 victory over Edgerton in Lamberton.
Edgerton slowed the Falcons down in the opening half, as the Dutchmen held a four-point halftime lead. But RRC worked the ball into the lane in the second half, outscoring Edgerton 37-14 for the half. The Falcons scored over half of their points in the game in the paint.
Corey Arkell led the Falcons with 10 points. Isaac Simonson and Jayden Lang each scored nine points.Â
