Cottonwood County Emergency Management has announced that all Cottonwood County governmental offices and Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services offices in Windom will be closed on Wednesday due to the impending snowstorm.
Emergency Management has already stated that people should plan on staying home during the storm, and that unnecessary travel could endanger travelers’ lives, as well as the lives of people called upon to potentially rescue stranded travelers.
Governor Tim Walz has declared a peacetime State of Emergency, activating members of the Minnesota National Guard to potentially help rescue stranded motorists.
