Monica Marie (Ennis) Amundson was born on March 4, 1958, to Merlyn and Marie (Griffith) Ennis in Lakefield, Minnesota. At an early age, Monica was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, Minnesota. Monica grew up in Windom, where she attended and graduated from Windom Area High School in 1976. Monica was a member of American Lutheran Church, where she served as an usher on Saturday nights.

On July 29, 1977, Monica was united in marriage to Rick Amundson, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The marriage was blessed with two children, Leah and Jimmy. The family settled in Windom and Monica enjoyed helping milk cows on the farm, subbing at school, working at the Developmental Achievement Center (DAC), and Windom Area Health, as an Environmental Specialist from 2011-2018. Monica loved babysitting her five grandkids, Aubrey, Jack, Brenna, Abby and Eddy. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events, playing card games, or working on puzzles. When she wasn’t busy with her grandkids, you could find her outside enjoying the summer sun at her pool, bowling with the Tuesday night Ladies League, celebrating with girlfriends, or at a country music concert.

Left to cherish Monica’s memory are her children, Leah (Jordan) Bussa and their children, Aubrey, Jack, and Brenna of Windom, MN, Jimmy (Britteny) Amundson and their children Abby and Eddy of Petersburg, MN; friend, Tony Hulm of Windom; brother, Mike (Lana) Ennis of Alexandria, MN; three sister and brothers-in-law, Linda (Bruce) Kintzi of Windom, MN, Sharon (John) Pederson of Fulda, MN, Darrell (Terri) Amundson of Ruthton, MN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Amundson; her parents, Merlyn and Marie Ennis; brother, Mark Ennis; father and mother-in-law, James and Bernice Amundson; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Roger Hesebeck.

Blessed be the memory of Monica Marie Amundson.
