The Windom Area boys hockey team was in control from the start Tuesday night, claiming a 7-0 victory at Worthington.
The Eagles got on the scoreboard 1:31 into the game, when Brady Espenson scored. Windom Area then netted a pair of goals in the final minute of the opening period, as Sonny Heil and Luke Anderson added goals.
Keegan Classen scored halfway through the second period for a 4-0 lead and Heil added a goal with 47 seconds left in the period, giving Windom Area a 5-0 lead.
Heil then capped a hat trick at the 8:26 mark of the third period. Espenson added a shorthanded goal with 3:10 left in the game to cap the scoring.
The Eagles outshot Worthington 45-16 for the game. Goalie Grant Dronen recorded the shutout win for the Eagles.Â
