The Windom boys basketball team pulled away late in the first half and preserved the lead the rest of the way Friday night, claiming a high-scoring 111-97 win over Luverne at Windom.
After trailing much of the first half, the Eagles caught fire over the final five minutes, surging to a 17-point halftime lead. Windom outscored Luverne 29-13 over the final 5:40 of the half.
The Eagles were able to build the lead up to 23 points in the second half before Luverne cut into the deficit late in the game.
Henry Erickson led the Eagles with 41 points and 11 assists in the win. Abe McKibbin scored 26 points and Drew Rothenberger added 25.Â
