THURSDAY WRESTLING: Cobras split, Falcons go 2-1

Cobras earn split

The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team salvaged a triangular split Thursday in Mt. Lake, defeating Springfield 48-36 after opening with a 48-35 loss to LeSueur-Henderson.

Against LSH, the Cobras had falls from Preston Xayachak (106), Aiden Holmberg (132), Noah Holmberg (145) and Graycen Hansen (182). Tucker Renquist (138) added a technical fall.

Against Springfield, the Cobras had falls from Renquist (138), Noah Holmberg (145), Montgomery Bjorklund (152) and Eagan Maras (160).

Falcons go 2-1

Red Rock Central wrapped up the regular season Thursday, going 2-1 at a four-team meet in Luverne.

The Falcons defeated Luverne 42-39, topped Chester, S.D., 66-12 and lost 42-27 to Wabasso.

Against Luverne, RRC had falls from Keagan Steen (106), Carter Beranek (138), Evan Bartholomaus (145), Vander Mathiowetz (195), Brekken Determan (220) and Keaton Skarupa (285).

Against Chester, the Falcons had falls from Steen (106), Beranek (138), Bode Determan (152) and Quintyn Vold (160). Jonah Skarupa (126) and Andrew Pankonin (132) added decision wins.

Against Wabasso, the Falcons’ lone fall was from Bartholomaus (145). Pankonin (132), Beranek (138) and Determan (160) added decision wins.
