TUESDAY BOYS HOCKEY: Eagles fall in overtime

Windom Area 0-0-2-0 = 2
RJM 0-1-1-1 = 3

The Windom Area boys hockey team couldn’t hold onto a late lead Tuesday night, dropping a 3-2 overtime decision at Rochester John Marshall.

The Rockets got on the board first, scoring in the second period.

Trailing 1-0 entering the final period, the Eagles got on the board when Brady Espenson rifled home a shot off a feed from Cragen Porath at the 3:12 mark. Less than two minutes later, the Eagles took the lead when Nick Espenson knocked in a rebound, with Brad Gentry and Chase Hamlett assisting to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

But with 1:34 left in regulation, the Rockets’ Mason Decker batted in a rebound to tie the game.

Then, with 1:01 left in overtime, Decker repeated the feat, giving the Rockets the victory.

Windom outshot John Marshall 43-32 for the game. Goalie Adam Dahna finished with 29 saves in the loss.
