Cobras split Thursday
The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team split a pair of matches at New Ulm Thursday night.
The Cobras dropped a 55-9 decision to New Ulm, then rebounded with a 52-24 victory over St. James.
Against New Ulm, the Cobras had a major decision win from Jared Hunter (132) and decision victories from Preston Xayachak (106) and Matthew Voehl (113). WML was penalized one team point for an unsportsmanlike conduct violation.
Against St. James, the Cobras had falls from Xayachak (106), Voehl (113), Kameron Koerner (120), Aiden Holmberg (126), Noah Holmberg (145), Montgomery Bjorklund (160) and John Bergeman (170). Graycen Hansen (195) won by major decision. Hunter (132) and Tucker Renquist (138) won by decision.
Falcons drop two
The Red Rock Central wrestling team dropped a pair of matches Thursday in a triangular at Redwood Falls.
The Falcons fell 55-15 to Adrian-Ellsworth, then dropped a 42-33 decision to Redwood Valley.
Against AE, the Falcons’ lone fall came from Vander Mathiowetz (195). Evan Bartholomaus (145) added a decision win and RRC won one match by forfeit.
Against Redwood Valley, the Falcons had falls from Andrew Pankonin (132), Austin Cowan (182), Mathiowetz (195) and Keaton Skarupa (220). Bartholomaus (145) added a decision win and RRC won one bout by forfeit.
