WEEKEND BOYS HOCKEY: Eagles fall in overtime

For the second straight game, the Windom Area boys hockey team worked overtime Saturday.

But for the second time this season, Rochester Lourdes’ Peyton Loeslie scored in overtime to hand the Eagles a defeat, as Lourdes claimed a 3-2 overtime win at the Windom Arena.

Windom Area tied the game at 1-1 in the opening period on a goal by Brady Espenson, then took a 2-1 lead in the second on a goal from Wriley Haugen.

But Loeslie scored a shorthanded goal in the third period, tying the game at 2-2. Then, late in overtime, netted the unassisted game-winner.

Windom Area outshot Lourdes 40-27 for the game. Goalie Adam Dahna finished with 24 saves.
