Mankato West 2-1-1-0 = 4
Windom Area 1-2-1-0 = 4

The Windom Area girls hockey team put on constant offensive pressure, but Mankato West’s goalie was up to the challenge, preserving a 4-4 tie Thursday at the Windom Arena.

The Eagles outshot the Scarlets 59-22 for the game, but it was West that built a lead on four different occasions, only to have the Eagles battle back.

Trailing 1-0 in the first, the Eagles tied the game on a goal by Marissa Becker. West added a goal late in the period to take a 2-1 lead.

Early in the second, Reagan Haugen deflected a rebound into the net, tying the game at 2-2.

Then, trailing 3-2, Ella Dockter scored an unassisted goal with two minutes left in the period, tying the game at 3-3.

West regained the lead nine seconds into the third period, but the Eagles got the equalizer with 1:12 left in regulation on a goal from Presley Dockter.

The Eagles then outshot the Scarlets 10-2 in overtime, but West goalie Alayna Smith stopped all 10 shots, with 55 saves for the game.

Eagle goalie Fiona Robillard finished with 18 saves in the tie.
