Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey stormed back in the second half Thursday night, surging to a 53-51 victory at Edgerton.
The Dutchmen held a nine-point halftime lead, but the Wolverines were able to make a run late in the game behind hot shooting from senior Brooke Naas.
Naas scored 20 of her game-high 24 points in the second half, including going 7-of-7 from the free throw line. A key four-point play gave the Wolverines the lead late in the game.
Naas then hit a pair of free throws in the closing minute and Jaci Tollefson added a late free throw. MLAC’s defense then held the Dutchmen away from the bucket for the final 10 seconds, preserving the win.
Tollefson added 10 points in the win for the Wolverines.

Red Rock Central’s offense sputtered on its home court Thursday night as Westbrook-Walnut Grove rolled to a 47-26 victory at Lamberton.
The Chargers held the Falcons to 21% shooting from the field for the game. WWG was able to build a 14-point halftime lead, then stretched the lead in the second half.
Alyssa Cowan led RRC with nine points in the loss. Sondra Rindfleisch added eight points.Â
