MONDAY GIRLS BASKETBALL: Eagles hold off Titans

Windom 31-19= 50
TCU 19-27 = 46

The Windom girls basketball team clung to a lead late Monday, eking out a 50-46 victory over Tri-City United in Montgomery.

The game was played on an unusual schedule after being postponed from Friday night. Because TCU was slated for a concert Monday night, the game was varsity-only, starting at 5 p.m.

The Eagles got off the bus hot from the field, hitting four three-pointers in the first half and racing to a 12-point halftime advantage.

But TCU battled back in the second half with five treys of its own, closing the gap to within five points late.

But down the stretch, the Eagles made 5-of-8 from the free throw line as a team to seal the victory.

Alivia Letcher led the Eagles with 15 points. Tristyn Maras added 12 points in the win.
