He was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where he received the sacraments of baptism, holy communion, and confirmation, and he served as a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Tom grew up in Windom and attended Highland and Winfair Elementary Schools, and in the fifth grade he went to Wilder Elementary School, before transferring back to Windom Public Schools. He graduated from Windom Area High School.

On October 25, 1980, Tom was united in marriage to Edith “Edie” Follen. The marriage was blessed with two children, Fallon and Brady. The family lived on the family farm. Tom farmed all his life and worked at the U.S. Post Office for 21 years. He served as a Road Supervisor for Great Bend Township since November 2010.

Tom loved farming, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed drinking Budweiser with his buddies and hanging out in his shop. Tom was a Gunsmoke fan, but most of all he loved time with the grandchildren.

Tom passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 6th at Windom Area Health in Windom.
