THURSDAY GIRLS HOCKEY: Eagle girls score late, top Trojans

The Windom Area girls hockey team had a flair for the dramatic Thursday night, scoring with 54 seconds left on the clock in regulation to steal a 3-2 victory at Worthington.

The Eagles got off to a quick start, as Ella Dockter and Victoria Robillard scored goals in the first period, giving Windom Area a quick 2-0 lead.

Worthington battled back, scoring a power play goal late in the second period, then tying the game 1:14 into the third.

But the Eagles went on the power play late in regulation, with Madelyn Schumacher redirecting a shot by Ella Dockter past the Trojan goalie for the game-winning goal.

The Eagles outshot the Trojans 42-22 for the game. Goalie Fiona Robillard finished with 20 saves.
