The Windom Area School Board approved a contract with Windom Area Health at Monday night’s school board meeting.
Windom Area Health will provide sports medicine to athletes at home games for B-squad, junior varsity and varsity games. Trainers on hand from Windom Area Health will provide first aid and emergency care, taping, injury evaluation and follow-up care coordination, if requested.
Windom Area Schools will provide the supplies and training room space and marketing benefits include WAH will be the exclusive health care partner for sports medicine services.
Additionally, $4,000 annually will be paid to Windom Area Health from Windom schools and WAH will maintain insurance for the providers.
It was also said that any student data collected by the provider will be kept in an in-house system, not in Epic or Sanford Chart. WAH agreed to FERPA (confidentiality laws).
