The Cottonwood County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting Monday at the county courthouse.
The meeting was intended to be a closed hearing to discuss possible disciplinary action against a county employee. However, the employee requested the meeting be open to the public.
The county’s labor attorney, Ann Goering, reviewed the allegations against the employee and the facts learned during a meeting with the employee.
The board closed the meeting, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 13D.05, for preliminary consideration of discipline against an employee and based upon attorney-client privilege.
After nearly 40 minutes in closed session, the board reopened the session, stating no action would be taken by the board at this time.
