A Celebration of Life Service for Cheryl Brugman, age 69, of rural Jeffers, will be held on Friday, November 4th at 10:30 AM at the American Lutheran Church in Windom with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3rd from 4:00-7:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom. Visitation will continue at the church in Windom on Friday for one-hour prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Cheryl Brugman passed away Saturday, October 22nd at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Cheryl Ann (Segelstrom) Brugman was born on March 7, 1953, to Richard and JoAnne (Anderson) Segelstrom in Stillwater, Minnesota. She was baptized in May 1953 at Marine on St. Croix, MN and was confirmed in her faith in May 1968, in Stillwater. Cheryl grew up in the Stillwater area, attended Scandia/Forest Lake Elementary and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1971. She attended St. Cloud State College and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1975.
On June 18, 1977, Cheryl was united in marriage to Donald Brugman at Trinity Lutheran church in Stillwater. The couple was blessed with two children, Nathan and Melissa. Cheryl was a farm wife and teacher. She worked at Sanborn Public Schools, Cyrus Schools, and Busy Bee Preschool in Windom for 25 years until she retired in May 2019.
Cheryl was very active in the community and the American Lutheran Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, Youth Leader, Handbell Choir member, Ladies Circle Group, and she served on various boards. Cheryl was a youth advocate, serving as a 4-H leader, Ladies extension group member and on an Early Childhood initiative team.
Some of Cheryl’s favorite things included winter activities in her younger years, camping, fishing, reading, crafts, playing cards and board games, gardening, working with children, spending time with her family and attending her kids and grandkids activities.
Cheryl passed away Saturday, October 22nd at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 45 years, Don Brugman of Jeffers; two children, Nathan (fiancé Jessi Holcomb) Brugman of Jeffers, and Melissa (Justin) Dardis of Windom; three grandchildren, Hadley and Hudson Dardis, and Camille Brugman; siblings, Debra (Doug) Phelps of Champlin, MN, and Karen Hanan of Wagner, SD; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Joanne Segelstrom; and brother-in-law, Mike Hanan.
