Election results from Cottonwood County will be making their way to the courthouse in Windom over the next couple of hours, but the first precinct has already brought in its ballots.
Delton Township does most of its balloting by mail, but does have its election day polling place at the Commissioners Room of the courthouse.
Delton Township election judge Randy Therkilsen said that turnout was quite high for a non-presidential election year.
“I figure we’re at over 84% of our registered voters,” Therkilsen said. “We were higher than that two years ago, but our turnout has run pretty high the last couple of elections.”
Local election results for local, state and national races will be posted as they become available throughout the evening.
