Communities set trick-or-treat hours for Monday

Young ghosts, goblins and witches will be roaming the streets and sidewalks of Windom Monday and the city of Windom has set a designated time for youngsters to go trick-or-treating for Halloween.

Windom’s trick-or-treat hours will be from 4-7 p.m. The same hours are in place for Mt. Lake and Jeffers. Westbrook trick-or-treat hours run from 4:30-8 p.m., while Storden designated 5-7 p.m. as trick-or-treat hours.

Residents are reminded that, if they wish to have trick-or-treaters come to their door, to turn on their outdoor lights as an indicator. Homeowners should shut off their lights when they are done handing out candy for the evening.

Additionally, motorists driving through communities on Monday evening are reminded to slow down and be aware of any trick-or-treat activity in areas they are driving through.

Finally, many cities in the county will have curfew hours on Halloween, where young people are not allowed to be out and about.
