The Windom Lions Club’s Tegels Park shelter project received a huge boost on Saturday, thanks to HyLife and its community and corporate partners.
Late Saturday afternoon, during HyLife’s first annual Windom Fun Days event held at the Cottonwood County Fairgrounds, HyLife CFO Tom Seigfreid announced that a $40,000 gift will go to the Lions Club shelter project. Seigfreid went on to say that HyLife was able to raise the funds for this donation through the generous assistance from its corporate partners.
Company officials say that although this is the first such event in Windom, HyLife has previously been operating the event at its headquarters since 2011.
“Since 2011, together, we have been able to raise more than $1.4 million for local charities,” Seigfreid told the crowd of employees and community members at Saturday’s event.
Afterward, HyLife employees and members of the Windom Lions Club gathered to discuss the donation and for a brief photo with the giant $40,000 check. The Lions are still raising funds for the $250,000 project. For information on how to donate, contact any Lions Club member, or Windom City Hall.
