Windom goes 1-2 at tourney

The Windom Eagle volleyball team stumbled out of the blocks in two of its three matches at Saturday’s Luverne Tournament, going 1-2 for the day and taking its first two defeats of the season.

The Eagles opened the day with a 25-22, 25-18 sweep over Adrian-Ellsworth, but the Eagles then dropped a 23-25, 25-13, 12-15 loss to Edgerton before falling 19-25, 25-12, 12-15 against Luverne.

Tristyn Maras led the Eagle offense for the day with 41 kills. Elliot Espenson added 14 kills. Leah Hauge had 12 kills and Hannah Dauer finished with 11 kills.

Espenson went 37-of-40 serving for the day with seven aces. Kadyn Paulson had four aces on 23-of-25 serving and Hadley Sammons was 35-of-36 with three aces.

Makenna McNamara finished with 40 set assists. Charlee Huska had 29 assists. Paulson finished the day with 23 digs.
