During Monday’s Windom School Board meeting, the board voted to end the solar project with Ideal Energy.
The school entertained putting solar panels on the buildings to utilize a tax credit and a $102,000 grant that was given to them. Ideal Energy was the company that was allowed to start the project but the idea was put on hold because it was determined the school would pay more for solar power than it would by going through the city for its electricity.
