This year’s Cottonwood County Fair will have many of the events and activities locals are accustomed to and a handful of new features for all ages to enjoy.
Wednesday kicks off the week with the 4-H horse show at 8 a.m. in the Arena. 4-H shows featuring goats, sheep, lambs, rabbits, poultry, dairy and swine all follow throughout the day. The 4-H Food Stand opens at 10 a.m. and commercial exhibits open at 5 p.m.
The house cat and kitten show in Oleson Pavilion is a popular first-day event. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Inflatables, which serve as a highlight for families, begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening and run daily from noon to 9 p.m. Unlimited Play is a new inflatables vendor this year.
In addition, the evening includes a rock concert featuring IV Play. The band will perform just east of the Arena at 8 p.m.
This event is free to the public, thanks to a sponsorship by the Windom Area Chamber of Commerce & Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
