For most high school sports teams in Minnesota, the fall sports season officially gets underway on Aug. 15.
Prior to then, Mt. Lake Public School will host a fall sports parent/athlete/coach meeting on Aug. 11.
The meeting, which includes all Mt. Lake Area and Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey fall sports, will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will be held at the Mt. Lake Public School auditorium. Attendees should enter through Door 12.
At that meeting, parents and athletes will hear a presentation on Minnesota State High School League and district eligibility requirements. Athletes and coaches also will have the chance to meet with the coaches of their respective sports.
Fall athletes also are reminded the proof of a physical examination needs to be on file at their school’s office before they may participate in sports. Physicals are required every three years, so any athlete entering 7th and 10th grade should make sure their physical is up-to-date. Physicals also may be required more often if a student has sustained an injury due to sports participation.
