For the first time ever, the Windom Night to Unite will be held on a Tuesday night this year.
Jenny Quade of the Windom City Council mentioned the change at last week’s regular meeting. The topic arose because Quade requested that the Aug. 2 council meeting begin at 7:30 p.m. — rather than its usual 6:30 p.m. start time — to allow council members to take part in Night to Unite.
Quade told the council that Windom has always chosen to hold Night to Unite on a Monday night on the Square, rather than on the official Night to Unite date. However, this year the decision was made to match Windom’s Night to Unite date with what occurs across the rest of the nation.
