Numbers were down, but quality was steady for the Cottonwood Cattle Producers Annual Beef Royale Live Show last week.
Twenty-two head were evaluated on their exterior appearance and structure, as well as how good the judges thought they would grade once harvested. Awards will be handed out at the Cottonwood Cattle Producer’s Beef Royale Banquet in fall.
The event was held at the Jackson Livestock Exchange and hosted with the Martin County Fair. There was also an opportunity for area beef producers to complete a Beef Quality Assurance program to become certified to sell beef into the food system.
