Dawn Aamot, library director at Windom Public Library, is closing a chapter. After nearly 35 years at the Windom Public Library, she will retire on Saturday.
A farewell open house will take place Thursday and Friday, during library hours, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
As a youngster, Aamot and her junior high girlfriends would read together for fun. No social media or video games. Just the unashamed, curl-up-with-a-good-book, giggly kind of fun.
“We could come to the library, pick out books, and on Saturday afternoons, get together at one of our houses and just sit and read. All day, all afternoon. We’d eat sunflower seeds and drink Coke,” she reminisced.
