The Windom Eagle softball team couldn’t overcome an early deficit Saturday as it bowed out of the Section 3AA Tournament with a 6-2 loss to Litchfield at Marshall.

The Dragons scored twice in each of the first two innings and held a 5-0 lead after three.

The Eagles finally broke through in the fifth inning as Leah Hauge hit a two-run single for the lone Eagle runs.

Hauge had two of Windom’s six hits in the game.

Anja Nielsen took the pitching loss, allowing nine hits and two walks while striking out one.

The loss ends the Eagles’ season with an 11-11 overall record.
