Eagle boys advance
The Windom boys golf team put together a consistent round Thursday, shooting a 328 team score in the opening round of the Section 3AA Tournament, held at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake.
That put the Eagles in fifth place as a team, moving the entire team on to the second day of the tournament, which will be played June 1 at Oakdale.
Consistency was the name of the game for the Eagles Thursday and the scores indicated just that. Eli Lund led the way, shooting an 80. Carter Rossow followed with an 81 and Greyson Elder shot an 82. Landon Pillatzki added an 85 for Windom’s final counting score.
New London-Spicer shot a 311 for the team lead after the opening day. Other teams qualifying for the second day of the tourney are Minnewaska (317), Marshall (322) and Luverne (325).
Charlie Hanson of Morris and Peyton Coahran of New London-Spicer were the individual leaders after day one, each scoring a 75.
The first day of the girls’ Section 3AA Tournament, which had been slated for Wednesday, will now be played May 31 at Oakdale.
