Wolverine boys take second at Red Rock Meet

Red Rock Conference Meet

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey’s boys placed second and the girls took fifth at Thursday’s Red Rock Conference Meet, held in Mt. Lake.

MLAC’s boys finished with 115 points. Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central was seventh with 24 points. Southwest Christian-Edgerton won the meet with 198.

For the girls, MLAC was fifth with 71 points. WWG/RRC was seventh with 35½ points. SWCE won the meet with 191½ points.

MLAC’s boys were led by Cayden LaPointe, who won the 110 hurdles (17.10) and took second in the 300 hurdles (46.00). Kody Wassman added a win in the 3,200 meter run (10:57.86). MLAC’s team of Wassman, Ethan Schroeder, Caden Swoboda and Zach Klassen won the 4×800 relay (9:04.37). Tido Xayachak added runner-up finishes in the pole vault (12-0) and long jump (19-2½).

WWG/RRC’s boys were led by Kole Curry, who won the 100-meter dash (12.32) and was second in the 200 (24.18).

MLAC’s girls were led by Haily Green’s victory in the 300 hurdles (52.24). Riley Schroeder placed second in the pole vault (8-0). Lana Kestner was third in the 400 (1:04.77). Kearney Wall took third in the discus (83-11).

WWG/RRC’s girls were led by Kelsey DeSmith, who won the high jump (4-10).
