Eagle Invite
The Windom Eagle track and field teams swept the team titles at Tuesday’s four-team Eagle Invitational, held in Windom.
The Eagle girls finished with 164 points. Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey was third with 84. Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central was fourth with 26.
For the boys, Windom won the meet with 146 points. MLAC was third with 91. WWG/RRC was fourth with 18.
Windom’s girls had a trio of individual champions at the meet. Lucy Stevens took first in the 200 (28.60) and 400 (1:03.34). Kaylee Walklin won the 800 (2:32.07) and 1,600 (5:29.92). Elliot Espenson won the shot put (32-8) and discus (86-10).
Hadley Sammons added a win in the 100 (14.49). Haidyn Sammons won the 3,200 (13:40.56). Windom also won all four relays in the meet.
MLAC’s girls were paced by double-event winner Haily Green, who won the 100 hurdles (19.10) and 300 hurdles (55.23).
Tiegan Meyer added a win in the high jump (4-6) and Riley Schroeder won the pole vault (8-0).
WWG/RRC’s top finish was a runner-up performance in the 4×100 relay (1:00.75).
For the boys, Windom was led by double-event winners Dylan Serreyn and Alex Altman. Serreyn took first in the high jump (6-2) and triple jump (41-6½). Altman won the shot put (45-½) and discus (131-0). Bryan Macario added a win in the 400 (54.36). Windom added wins in the 4×200 relay (1:39.86).
MLAC was led by double-event winner Cayden LaPointe, who finished first in the 110 hurdles (17.52) and 300 hurdles (46.26). Tido Xayachak added a win in the pole vault (10-6). MLAC also won the 4×400 relay (3:47.06). Zach Klassen took first in the 800 (2:07.81).
WWG/RRC’s top finish was a runner-up finish from Kole Curry in the 100 dash (12.27).
