The Eagles allowed just three hits in the game, but Windom pitchers issued 15 walks and hit two batters.

The Cardinals took the lead for good in the bottom of the second inning, scoring on a single and four wild pitches to plate five runs.

Trailing 7-2 in the third, the Eagles scored on a Brady Espenson groundout. The Eagles cut the deficit to 8-5 in the fourth on a run-scoring fielder’s choice from Henry Erickson and on a passed ball.

But the Cardinals put the game away with four runs in the fifth, including a three-run double.

Brayden Kreofsky added a run-scoring sacrifice in the sixth and a bases-loaded walk in the seventh. Windom added runs in the seventh on an error and a passed ball.
