The Windom School Board made it official — Dane Nielsen will be the district’s next elementary principal.
The board unanimously approved Nielsen as the grades PreK-5 elementary principal, succeeding Jamie Frank, who was hired as the district’s superintendent last month.
Nielsen, a 1996 graduate of Windom Area High School, is in his third year as assistant principal. Prior to that, Nielsen served the district as activities director/community education director for six years. He has been employed with the district for 12 years.
Nielsen begins his duties on July 1.
The board also approved his resignation as assistant PreK-5 elementary principal. The board could name a new assistant principal as early as the May 9 board meeting.
More on Monday’s school board work session appears in the April 27 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
