Wolverines run at LCWM

LCWM Invite

The Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey boys placed fourth and the girls took fifth at Tuesday’s Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Invitational, held in Lake Crystal.

The MLAC boys scored 92 points. LCWM-Nicollet won the team title with 143 points.

MLAC’s girls finished with 45 points. LCWMN won the meet with 147½.

The lone win of the day for the Wolverine boys came in the 4×800 relay, where the team of Caden Swoboda, Zach Klassen, Ethan Schroeder and Kody Wassman finished with a time of 9:08.10.

Tido Xayachak led the Wolverine individuals, grabbing runner-up finishes in the pole vault (9-0), long jump (18-10½) and triple jump (38-½).

Wassman added a runner-up finish in the 1,600 (5:06.73). Swoboda took second in the 800 (2:17.18) and Klassen was third in the 3,200 (11:58.71). Cole Klean placed third in the 100 (12.67) and 400 (56.04). Jordan Linscheid was fourth in the 200 (26.58). Cayden LaPointe was fourth in the long jump (17-4).

For the girls, MLAC’s top finish was a runner-up effort in the 4×800. The team of Lana Kestner, Jacey Klassen, Aleeza Schultzand Kate Janzen finished in 11:52.09.

Haily Green  grabbed third-place finishes in the 400 (1:09.81) and the 100 hurdles (19.04). Janzen took third in the 800 (2:49.61) and fourth in the pole vault (7-0). Kearney Wall was third in the shot put (28-1).
