A Sunday morning patrol was anything but routine when an officer spotted a vehicle zipping through Windom at high speeds with its four-way flashers on.
The officer quickly followed the car, which was traveling north on Highway 60-71. The officer finally caught the driver about 9:20 a.m. at Windom Area Health.
It was a medical emergency, the driver explained, he was rushing his wife to the hospital.
The officer advised the motorist that his actions could have caused an accident. Calling an ambulance would be a safer option.
