BREAKING: Juvenile may face charges after RRC threat

Red Rock Central school went into lockdown today and a juvenile may face charges as a result of a complaint about threats.

According to a release posted this today by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, a complaint was sent by RRC officials to the Lamberton Police Department and Redwood County Sheriff’s Office. The complaint stated there had been threats directed at the school and staff over social media.

As a result, the school was placed in lockdown until an investigation was complete.

Upon investigation, law enforcement determined that the threats came form a juvenile male. The boy was taken into custody and charges are pending.

“No students or staff were in any danger during the investigation,” the Redwood Sheriff’s Office press release stated. “The school was reopened later in the morning.”
