Tough field for Windom speech at Fairmont Finale

The competition was stiff in the 21-school Fairmont Finale Saturday in Fairmont. Indeed, the tournament was the final test for many teams in Southern Minnesota as post-season tournament competition gets underway this week.

Windom and Mt. Lake competed in the Section 3A South Sub-Section Tournament in Adrian Tuesday.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central will compete in the Section 3A North Sub-Section Tournament on Saturday in Minneota.

Windom finished tied for 16th at Fairmont Saturday with eight points, while the tournament hosts topped the field with 88 points. Marshall was second with 57 points and Rochester Mayo was third with 37 points.

Windom mustered just two places in the varsity division. Chloe Shamp was fourth in poetry, while the duo interpretation team of Ella Wilde and Vanessa Garcia finished sixth.
