BREAKING: Board selects Frank as new superintendent

The Windom Area School District will have a new leader for the 2022-23 school year, but that leader is someone very familiar with the district.

After completing a second round of interviews Monday evening, the school board voted to enter contract negotiations with Jamie Frank to serve as the district’s new superintendent.

Frank currently serves as Grades PreK-5 principal at Windom Area Elementary School.

Pending board approval of a contract, she will replace Wayne Wormstadt, effective July 1. Wormstadt — who served as Frank’s mentor as she pursued her superintendent licensure — is leaving the district after 13 years to become superintendent of the Meade School District in Sturgis, S.D.

More on this story will appear in the March 23 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
