Windom superintendent search narrowed to three

The Windom Area School Board will interview three candidates for its open superintendent position.

At a special meeting Monday, the board finalized the interview process and the list of questions. The board also heard the recommendation of the Minnesota School Boards Association, which received applications and vetted candidates. MSBA recommended the district interview three of the six applicants.

Those interviews will be held Wednesday, beginning at 4 p.m. Each candidate will have a one-hour interview block with a 15-minute break in between.

Candidates who will be interviewed are:

• Dr. Katie Clarke: Clarke is a principal and director of teaching and learning with the Worthington School District.

• Jamie Frank: Frank is the current PreK-5 Principal at Windom Area Elementary School.

• Darrin Strosahl: Strosahl is a former superintendent who is currently vice president of academic affairs and chief operating officer at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji.

Following the first round of interviews, the board will determine how many candidates to offer a second interview to. That second round of interviews would be held Monday. After that time, the board will make a determination of who to offer the position to and begin contract negotiations.

The board hopes to have a contract offer to vote on by the March 28 board work session.
