There is a new game in town, at least for the next two months — bingo.
The Business, Arts and Recreation Center is offering bingo on the third Tuesday of March and April, March 15 and April 19. The venture is a new fundraiser for the non-profit, charitable organization.
Bingo will be played in the BARC Library, 1012 5th Ave., just off the downtown square in Windom. Doors open at 6 p.m., with play beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Large, easy-to-read bingo cards with sliders will be used to play a variety of standard bingo games. Cards for each game are sold for $1, with cash prizes awarded, based on the number of cards purchased for each game.
This type of bingo game is regulated by the Minnesota Gambling Control Board, resulting in two rules of which participants need to be aware:
•  Only cash can be accepted for the purchase of bingo cards; checks and credit or debit cards may not be accepted.
•  Only persons 18 years of age or older may participate as a player.
Concessions, including popcorn, pop, bottled water and candy, will be offered for sale — also a BARC fundraiser.
Tuesday’s event is hosted by State Farm Insurance, Stacie Sanow and her staff.
BARC Directors and staff encourage area residents to come and out and try their luck. They also hope participants are patient as BARC embarks on this new fundraiser.
