WWG 16-31 = 47
MLAC 19-29 = 48

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey came to life on offense in the second half Saturday, hanging on late for a 48-47 victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove in Mt. Lake.

The Chargers held the Wolverines scoreless the final two minutes of the game and cut the deficit to one on a Kole Curry bucket. But MLAC was able to cut off the Chargers’ attempts to take the lead late.

Kody Wassman led the Wolverines with 12 points in the victory. Kade Wassman added 11 points in the win.

Cole VanDeWiele and Dan Kleven each scored 14 points for WWG. Curry added 10 points in the loss.

MLAC 30-25 = 55
MCC 21-20 = 41

Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey turned in a strong defensive effort and had the hot hand from outside Friday night, allowing the Wolverines to claim a 55-41 win over Murray County Central in Slayton.

MLAC knocked down seven treys and shot over 50% from three-point range for the game, while holding MCC to 1-of-14 from long distance.

Carter Olson led the Wolverines with 17 points. Ashton Toll added 14 points in the win.

WWG 23-25 = 48
RRC 16-19 = 35

A slow pace and a cold shooting night for both teams kept the score low Friday, but Westbrook-Walnut Grove was able to build an early lead and hang on to defeat Red Rock Central 48-35 in Lamberton.

WWG held the Falcons to 29% shooting for the game and forced 25 Falcon turnovers. That allowed the Chargers to build a seven-point halftime cushion and pull away late for the win.

Kole Curry led WWG with 24 points. Austin Parker added 10 points.

Isaac Simonson paced RRC with 12 points. Joe Strock added 10 points.
