School board plans work session, special meeting

The Windom Area School Board will hold its monthly work session Monday, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Windom City Hall council chambers.

On the agenda, the board will act on the purchase of Chromebooks for all students in grades 6-12, for use beginning with the 2022-23 school year. The Chromebooks would replace iPads as the school’s one-to-one technology in those grades.

The board also will act on fundraisers for the baseball program and the music department. The board also will act on the addition of a .4FTE school psychologist through the Southwest-West Central Services Cooperative.

The board also will hear information on proposals to start a soccer program and a marching band program.

  • The school board also has planned a special meeting for Tuesday, beginning at 4 p.m., at the Windom Area Elementary School conference room.

On the agenda, the board will review surveys from various stakeholders concerning the superintendent search process.

The board will draft the first round of interview questions and will schedule the first round of interviews for the vacancy. The board also will review a training packet from the Minnesota School Boards Association regarding a superintendent search.
