Eagles snap skid, win finale

The Windom Area boys hockey team snapped a five-game skid Tuesday night, defeating Minnesota River in the regular season finale at LeSueur.

The Eagles twice came from behind to tie the game in the opening period, scoring on goals from Zach Espenson and Ben Purrington.

Then, after a scoreless second period, the Eagles took the lead for good early in the third on a Wyatt Haugen power play goal. Brady Espenson scored two minutes later for a 4-2 Eagle lead. Haugen added an empty-net goal in the final minute, sealing the win.

The Eagles outshot the Bulldogs 36-14 in the game. Goalie Dan Stubbe finished with 12 saves.
