Red Cross blood drive set for Feb. 21 in Mt. Lake

The American Red Cross is facing a national blood crisis — its worst blood shortage in over a decade, posing a concerning risk to patient care.

Doctors have been forced to make difficult decisions about who receives blood transfusions and who will need to wait until more products become available. Blood and platelet donations are critically needed to help prevent further delays in vital medical treatments.

You can do your part now by signing up to take part in an American Red Cross blood drive Feb. 21, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Mt. Lake Community Center, 1027 2nd Ave., in Mt. Lake on Monday from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Schedule an appointment to give blood now by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
