Cobras drop three
The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team ran into three tough Section 3AA rivals Saturday, going 0-3 in a four-team meet at Fairmont.
The Cobras opened the day with a 64-15 loss to Martin County. WML then took a 66-6 loss to Hutchinson and a 62-12 loss to Morris Area-Hancock-Chokio-Alberta.
Against Martin County, the Cobras had falls from Jared Hunter (113) and Micah Holmberg (182). Caden Swoboda (138) added a decision win.
WML’s lone victory against Hutchinson was a fall from Holmberg (182). Meanwhile, against MAHACA, WML’s lone wins were forfeits at 106 and 182.
Holmberg recorded his 100th career victory during the quad.
Dragons top Cobras
The Windom-Mt. Lake wrestling team dropped seven of the final eight weight classes Friday night, taking a 48-24 loss to Adrian-Ellsworth at Windom.
The Cobras had falls from Thavien Xayachak (120), Noah Holmberg (132) and Micah Holmberg (182). Matthew Voehl (106) and Caden Swoboda (138) added decision wins.
